Let us learn about two of the most sought after vehicles these days – Dodge and Jeeps. The year 2016 will prove to be significant for both of them when it comes to sales and market position.
The Dodge brand customer is now the youngest in the industry after being in the market for over 4 decades.
On Dodge Challenger, the users’ guide is now programmed into the touchscreen system for easy reference, while the UConnect and Powertrain sections only display relevant information. Blacktop Appearance Group spread to SXT and R/T, with new 20-inch five-spoke gloss black aluminum wheels. You now have 12 wheel options and the SRT Hellcat gets a new 390 mm Brembo two-piece rotors with six-piston calipers.
It adds new Plus packages for SE and SXT, and Blacktop on SE Plus and SXT, as the vans enter their penultimate year.
- Charger SRT
The updates to user’s guide, UConnect and Powertrain are same as the Challenger with the content being updated over the air. Both 392 and Hellcat are equipped with plush Laguna leather interiors, big touchscreen navigation systems, HD radio, and five years of satellite Travel Link and Traffic.
Check out the new sport-appearance hood with SXT Rallye or Blacktop and GT. The former has 17-inch gray aluminum wheels and a blackened polish; Blacktop package can be seen on Dart GT that has 18-inch black wheels and optional glossy-black ten-spoke wheels.
A standard 2.4 could be released in U.S. in future, possibly with a Fiat diesel. The low range Jeep could have the nine-speed ZF automatic with and entry-level six speed.
- Sport and Compass
The Sport can now be ordered with the 3.2 V6. Rhino and Line Brownstone have been added to the colors. Compass is now down to Sport and Latitude models, though a Sports SE package will be added to the base model, and High Altitude continues.
- Grand Cherokee
The first ever first FCA vehicle to get the upgraded Pentastar V6 for all models that boost the fuel-efficiency. The V6 has standard stop-start, and except for SRT, all Grand Cherokees get customizable-setting electric power steering, lower rolling resistance tires, and weight reduction thanks to aluminum suspension components.Exciting opportunities are in the pipeline for both Jeep and Dodge and their respective models. However, it is advisable to scout options as per your requirements, compare prices & features, and then zero in on what you wish to buy.
