Gas Prices Are Not Going Down!
Have you been seeing the gas prices rise lately? Every year it seems to get higher and higher. What happened to the $2.00 rate we used to pay? Now we are paying close to $4.00, who can afford that price? The cost of gas and diesel is enormous, and therefore, it would be great if you can save money on your fuel bills. We all need money-saving driving tips.
Let’s look at some useful money-saving driving tips:
We all have our ways to save gas, but just in case you need more or a reminder. Please let us know below what are your gas saving tips too!
Avoid driving during the rush hour
Traffic is GAS GUZZLER! First, it is awful to get stuck in traffic, but then you are wasting money sitting in these lines. Whenever you stop and restart the car in traffic, a significant amount of fuel is required by your car to get moving as it would need first gear. Therefore, it is best to avoid driving during the rush hour. Best advice is to avoid driving during traffic hours like (6am-10am and 4pm-7pm). Now that might be hard to do since you do need to get to work but try alternative routes that might take a bit more time but less gas.
Close the windows of the car
Did you know that closing the windows will help the car maintain the best aerodynamics and hence reducing the unnecessary drag? Also, there would be noise reduction with windows closed. You can make the condition slightly better by closing the windows of your vehicle and also the sunroof if your car has one.
Do not carry unnecessary weight:
Your car would require more fuel to carry more weight. If there is no need for all the stuff in the car, then remove it because the more unnecessary weight will burn gas you need. If you overload your vehicle, it will have a direct effect on the car’s fuel consumption.
Accelerate Smoothly
You should drive at a constant speed (around 50mph ideally) in the highest gear. The bottom line is that you can keep your fuel bills in check only if you are a patient driver. You don’t need to accelerate past a car just for the sake of being in front of it. Accelerate smoothly to save money on your fuel bill.
Turn off the air conditioning
This is a big gas waste. Yes, we all love to feel coolness blowing on us but if it not needed, turn it off! We agree that it is not possible to turn off the air conditioning always. However, you must know that it uses a lot of fuel. Therefore, if the weather is not hot, turn off the air conditioning in your car.
