Are you thinking about BUYING A CAR! I dream of a new car too, so I’ve been doing my research and found out when the best time to buy a car. I bet you didn’t know that the price of a vehicle can go up and day depending on the day or month?
Good news though…there are several times during the year that is an excellent time to buy. I like to save money and feel its part of my job as a wife/mom to make sure I do. So if you are penny pincher like me, then please take this advice and get you a new car this year.
I couldn’t believe summer was an option. In my head, I thought summertime would be the worse time to buy a car due to all the road trips people go on but NO! I guess the demand for cars goes up in autumn and winter because of harsh weather conditions. People drive their cars hard during colder times. So summer is the ideal season to buy a car because dealers want to get in more inventory for autumn sales.
Forget the weekend! Go on a Friday, why because the salesperson will want to get their weekly quota before the weekend starts. Great tip! However, if you are looking for more of a personal sale then Monday-Wednesday is the best to go in- not saying its the best time for a deal but it’s slower, and you will get the salesperson full attention. So you never know- negotiate too!
Sales are SLOW in the summer so by August dealerships are wanting new inventory so sales need to happen. Real bargains happen before September.
The best time to buy a car is at the end of each quarter. Dealers need to hit their sales target, so make sure to take advantage of all the deals the dealership is offering during this time. If you buy in December, you will defiantly get holiday sale promotions too. Most car dealerships have sales quotas they need to make, and that happens yearly, quarterly, and monthly.
End of the Month
My dad told me the best time to buy a car is on the 26th, 27th, or 28th day of the month because dealerships need to meet that monthly target. If you go in around the 29/30th, then the sale might not be completed until the next month, and you won’t qualify for the end of month deals.
My mom always said EVERY PENNY COUNTS so even if you save a couple hundred or thousand then you are already a winner. Looks like the best time to buy a car is when the dealership needs to hit their sales target. Think like a salesperson and you might just get your own reward of savings.
